Rest in Peace

Maria Teresa Perez, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Downey, California, at the age of 80. She was born in San Felipe, Nayarit, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity.

Maria was married to the love of her life, Mario Perez Ortega, for many years until his passing in 2020. She leaves five children: Jose Isaac Madrid, Maria Felipa Rodriguez, Jesus Ernesto Perez, Maria T. Macias, and Mario Perez Jr. she also leaves 9 grandchildren.

She worked as a seamstress for most of her life. One of her greatest joy was found in the heart of her home—cooking for her family and friends. Known for her kindness, humor, and generosity, Maria touched countless lives. She was hardworking and resilient, yet always made time to welcome others with warmth and care.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those who supported her in her final months: Mirna Garcia, Fressy Loiza Gutierrez, and Celia Escobar, who lovingly cared for her throughout her illness; her granddaughter's Vivian and Vanessa, who gave their time and energy to help. Her children and family members who surrounded her with love. Juan, Letty, and Miguel for their constant support during this difficult time.

Wake: Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Guerra Cunningham Bagues, 6351 Seville Ave, Huntington Park, CA 90255.
Mass: Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Presentation of Mary Catholic Church, 6406 Parmalee Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90001.
Burial: Following mass, there will be a procession to Park Lawn Cemetery, 6555 E. Gage Ave, Commerce, CA 90040, with burial beginning promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Maria's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
